CLUB NOTICE – CHEAM SQUASH CLUB / IMPACT OF COVID-19

Cheam Squash Members,

With the emerging situation around the corona virus - there are a couple of steps that myself and the committee feel we need to put in place to ensure that we can keep the club open and also keep in-line with the government recommendations.

With the above in mind, Immediate steps to be put in place;

  • The Junior section & sessions on Saturdays will be cancelled until at least after the Easter holiday - and we will continue to track the changing situation and make another judgement call closer to that date
  • No large gatherings of members at the club to ensure we don’t act as a local “hotspot” of infection
  • Club night & social nights will be cancelled until further notice

In addition to the above points, I am suggesting that club can continue to be open & utilised as long as the following is adhered to….

  • Standard games can be played amongst members but NO large group bookings
  • One on one coaching is allowed to continue (if the coaching team are happy to do so) and the advanced junior session (with only two per court) on Thursday can continue
  • League games can continue to be played however we will extend the current league by 6 weeks

Members PLEASE DO NOT attend the club if;

  • You start exhibiting cold-like symptoms
  • You have been in contact with anyone that has been diagnosed with COVID
  • You have developed symptoms outlined by the goverment / health service (cold / flu like symptoms)
  • You have any underlying conditions / vunerabilities that put you at high risk

Myself and the commitee will continue to monitor the situation and we may need to change tack if the situation changes or the goverment put new guidelines in place.

Regards,

Stuart Savill (Club Chairman)
