To some of you, this may be known - and others this maybe news.... However here goes!
Mr Neal Brooker has a great opportunity and is moving on from Cheam Squash to become the Head of Squash at Colets!
Neal will be missed by us all and has been such a brilliant eaxmple of what you can achieve on (and off) the squash court... I think it is fair to say (and Mr Brooker Snr can no doubt back this up) that Neal has grown up around Cheam Squash, learnt to play squash in our humble club then moved into the pro scene and then, subsquently came back to teach us all how to play squash (and continues to kick our collective butt's!) but allow us to all enjoy the beautiful game!
He has been so central to the growth of the club over many years alongside Natalie. As a result of Neal & Natalie's work we have seen juniors thrive and come through the ranks and many of the adults have enjoyed his training sessions & camps, PSA events have been organised and one of my personal favourites was the pulling together of the Nick Matthew exhibition match and the subsequent masterclass with Nick - that was such a brilliant weekend!
Neal leaves Cheam Squash Club on Sat 31st July and will be full time at Colets. This is a great opportunity for Neal and an even bigger opoortunity / gain for Colets to have Neals AWESOME energy and skills at their club.
To celebrate Neal's time at Cheam Squash - we are having a "special" club night (especially as we escape the great lockdown) - and this will be as follows:
On the afternoon of 31st July (starting at around 3:30pm) we are going to run a club night with "Play a Pro" - Neal and Jack Martell (our new coach) will all be giving us a merry run-around and make us feel real squash pain... After that session - Neal and Jack are going to treat us to an exhibition match (on our new shiny Court 1) and show us all how to "play the game" and finally we will wrap up with beers, merriment and some laughs around Neals time at Cheam Squash
Please do come down and enjoy the social club night hit /get together on the Saturday the 31st, enjoy the play a pro session, watch a great exhibition match, meet Jack (our new Level 3 coach) celebrate Neals time with us & earn ourselvesa well deserved hangover for Sunday morning!
